The rules of the valley.
Coyote Valley Sporting Clays is a live-fire range, and we enforce these rules for the protection and comfort of all of our guests. Calm, courteous behavior is required at all times with our staff and other guests. We do not tolerate rule violations, and we will not hesitate to remove anyone who intentionally violates or objects to our safety rules. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, and we will absolutely use it when a guest does not want to adhere to our rules.
If any of our rules are unclear, do not hesitate to ask.
You and your gun
Guns are carried with actions open and empty, always. Don't be afraid to ask someone to open their gun, and don't be offended if someone asks you.
Guns are not loaded until you're in the station and ready to shoot.
Personal firearms must have a minimum barrel length of 22 inches, and cannot have an adjustable stock, a pistol grip, or be magazine fed.
You and your ammunition
A maximum of two shells may be loaded at any time. No exceptions, for anyone.
Shot size 7.5 maximum, no 4, 5, 6 or 7, and low base only. Remember shot sizes run backwards: the smaller the number, the bigger the pellet.
Your own ammo is welcome if it qualifies: no magnum loads, no tracers, no 12-gauge 3-inch shells, no black powder without permission. Possessing improper ammunition is a disqualification. See our page on ammunition for more information.
You and your actions
Practice swings are not allowed outside of shooting stations.
Don't shoot at target chips, deflected targets, or errant targets.
Do not approach launcher equipment for any reason, especially downrange. If our equipment malfunctions, please notify a staff member.
Two or more people shooting at the same target is not allowed.

If you observe something unsafe, vacate the area and report it to our staff immediately. It's how we keep this place safe for everyone.
You and your responsibilities
Minors under 18 must be with an experienced adult, and their waiver must be signed by a parent, not who they're visiting with.
No alcoholic beverages in the shooting areas, and no consumption of alcohol or any substance before shooting. Ever.
Participants and observers alike must sign the liability waiver and agreement at the Pro Shop kiosk before stepping onto the course.
Required for all shooters and observers at all times. If you do not have any, they can be bought at the Pro Shop.
Closed-toe walking or hiking shoes for uneven terrain, loose gravel and dirt. A hat and long sleeves are strongly recommended against target fragments and shotfall.
Practice gun safety at every moment you are on the property. If a situation isn't covered by the rules above, take the safest option available and ask a staff member.
If a Range Marshall speaks to you.
You'll see our range marshalls out on the range. They're there to assist our guests, answer questions, and ensure that everybody is following our rules. If one of our range marshalls asks you to adhere to one of our safety rules, please follow their instructions. Guests who do not follow our rules or are rude to our staff will be asked to leave the property.
