If you forgot your ammo at home or you're looking to purchase more, we've got you covered. We sell a variety of ammo types in our Pro Shop, and we can receive ammo that you order.

Ammo can be purchased alongside our rental shotguns to be shot on property.

As an FFL dealer, we can receive ammo for you. Please make sure to email us ahead of time.
Bringing Your Own
What we can and can't accept.
You're welcome to bring your own ammunition, provided it meets our requirements. Ammunition that doesn't meet them may not be used on the course, so check the list below against your boxes before you load the car, and ask us if anything is unclear.

Three Numbers on the Box That Matter.
Shotgun ammo can be confusing if you're just entering shooting sports. Follow these guidelines to better understand our restrictions.
For Our Rentals
2¾ inches is our maximum. It's printed on every box. Three-inch shells are common for hunting and are not accepted here. If the box says 3″, leave it at home.
Shot Size
The number works backwards. A lower number means a bigger pellet, so #7 is larger than #9, not smaller. We accept 7.5, 8 and 9. Nothing larger than 7.5.
Velocity
1300 fps is our maximum. Velocity is printed on the box in feet per second. Anything above 1300 fps is not allowed on the course.
One Step at Check-In
Bring your boxes into the Pro Shop.
If you've brought your own ammunition, bring it inside when you check in and we'll verify it meets our requirements.

Shot size, shell length and velocity are all printed on the box. If any of them doesn't meet our restrictions, please do not bring it.

Please bring your ammo into the Pro Shop at check-in. If you bring restricted ammo onto the range, you will be asked to put it back in your car.

Improper ammunition is a disqualification, so check with us if you're unsure. One question at the counter costs you nothing. Feel free to call us or email us if you have questions.

Common Questions
About ammunition.
No. We sell a variety of ammo in the Pro Shop, mainly 12 and 20 gauge. You may bring ammo for your personal shotguns, but only our ammo can be used in our rental guns. And if you've booked the Introductory Package, your ammunition is already included.
Yes, provided it meets our requirements: shot size 7.5, 8 or 9 in 2¾-inch shells, lead or steel. No magnum, hi-velocity, high-base, tracer or slug ammunition, and no 12-gauge 3-inch shells. Bring it into the Pro Shop at check-in so we can verify it.
You may shoot reloads on property as long as they meet our restrictions.
You won't be able to shoot it on property. We will ask you to put the ammo back in your car. If you continue to shoot it on property, you will be asked to leave.
Yes. As an FFL dealer we can receive ammunition on your behalf. Email us ahead of time at info@coyoteclays.com so we know it's coming.
